A: On a Caribbean sailing trip from Islas Mujeres, Mexico to Miami, FL in May of 2002, three Boulder, CO natives began dreaming about the perfect boat shoe. - Q: Why are Crocs beneficial for my feet? A: Beyond being comfortable, the shoes have some features that make them especially good for feet. The shoes are designed with built in arch support, circulation nubs, and an orthotic heel cup to support and protect the heel. In addition, the Crocs are ventilated for cooling and filtering purposes, as well as slip and marking resistant.
- Q: What happens when the tread wears down on my Crocs? A: Just as the tread on a performance tire wears over time and loses its ability to grip the road, the tread on your Crocs shoes will wear as well. When it does, the slip-resistant nature of your Crocs will be compromised. So when the treads are worn, treat your feet to a new pair!
- Q: How do I care for my Crocs? A: Caring for your Crocs is easy. To keep your Crocs in good condition, you will want to avoid long-term exposure to heat or sun, such as a dish washer, washing machine, or hot car, as this can cause the shoes to shrink or warp. You can keep your classic Crocs clean by hand washing them with cold water and a mild soap.
If you have metallic leather Crocs, clean gently with a soft rubber sponge or slightly damp rag. Use a leather cream to restore shine and a protector spray to repel water.
If your Crocs are made with smooth napa leather, remove dust and dirt with a damp rag. Use a cotton brush to apply a natural waxy shoe cream or wax. Apply slowly in a spiral manner.
Patent leather Crocs can be gently wiped with a clean damp cloth or you can use a professional product which had been designed to clean patent leather. Never use harsh chemicals such as alcohol, detergent or liquid, as they will remove the shine and luster from your shoes.
For wedges and heel material, a damp cloth should remove most dust and dirt. Avoid solvent cleaners whenever possible as these may destroy the glue used to bond the sole.
For suede and lambswool Crocs, clean upper gently with soft wire or plastic brush, and spray with impregnation spray for water repellence.
